Friday nights in Shoreditch can be quite abysmal, what with Hen & Stag dos proliferating at alarming rates and creatives migrating a little further East every few months. Our aim at The City Arts & Music Project is to showcase emerging and established talent and curb wackness – free of charge. We’re tapping up A&Rs and dj collectives alike in our effort to create a weekly party locals can attend on a regular basis, knowing they will always be on the pulse of what is new and cooler than the other side of your pillow. Yeah, I just said that.

For the launch of COLOURR (downstairs) we have teenagersintokyo, David E Sugar and Death Metal Disco Scene live. You’ve probably (hopefully) heard of all of them, but I haven’t seen a lineup featuring all of them, and I’ve never seen them on a free lineup, that’s for sure. What is extra special about having teenagersintokyo is that this is their exclusive album launch. Our dj lineup walks the line too, to paraphrase Coolio, “there ain’t no party like an Ocelot party because an Ocelot party don’t stop”. We’re also pleased to feature London staples Khalil and CSY in a rare back to back set. Filling in gaps, and warming things up are Wah Girls, bloggers/belles du jour and nail aficionados to boot. I would say don’t miss this, but to be completely honest we’re serving up so much heat, so consistently, that next week (and the week after that, ad infinitum) will be just as nice. Free of charge.

For the launch of SHAPES (ground floor) we have Work It! doing what they do best, getting backs up off the wall with a little bump & grind. Oh me oh my.
