Secession - Touch (The Robot Scientists Dub Cut)

The German NuDisco-DJs Markus Schneider and Stefan Maurer aka The Robot Scientists, known from their Spaced Out Disco nights, Cosmic Beach Club and Musica Da Batticuore mixtapes, present their latest edit: a hommage to one of their favorite cosmic-synth-wave-disco tracks, Secession's "Touch", a so-far pretty unknown synth-wave-pop masterpiece from the 80s. The original from 1984 was produced by John Rocca, the singer of the well-known "Freeez" (I.O.U.). The Robot Scientists honour this outstanding track now with their atmospheric instrumental "Dub Cut". "The original has been released on 12 inch in two versions, the "Part 3" and the "Part 4", says Stefan Maurer. "We took the best of both versions to create a new "Part 5". If we do edits, we don't add any drums, synths or other instruments, we only re-mix the original versions taken from our large vinyl collection, re-arrange them and, if necessary, remove vocal parts. The result is a dubby, "21st century-compatible" instrumental which really worships the original. Play it loud to your friends - and enjoy!"

Cerrone - Freak Connection (The Robot Scientists Freaks in Space Edit)

The Robot Scientists's homage to the Parisian Jean-Marc Cerrone, one of the godfathers of synth-disco. His outstanding "Freak Connection" was originally released in 1983 on Malligator where he just released new remixes of his classic "Supernature". The 7 inch and the epic 9:18 12 inch versions of "Freak Connection" are medleys of the cosmic-synth-disco-boogie-ish instrumental "Freak Connection" and the funky vocal "Standing In The Shadows Of Love". As lovers of spaced out, slowly meandering synth basslines and laid back nu-disco grooves, the Robot Scientists created the first real "Freak Connection" track. They remodeled the original medley into a 6:57 retro-sci-fi-trip for all the disco freaks and hipster bars on planet Earth - and beyond. BTW, the nude cover was banned in several states, so you also get vinyls showing the girl wearing faked white panties.
